Where are you based?
I am based out of Woodbridge, Virginia and I work exclusively within the greater Washington D.C./Northern Virginia area.
Do you specialize in any specific area of photography?
I shoot in a photo-journalistic style of photography, meaning I try to capture candid moments in addition to the "over the mantel" photos.
Do you have a studio?
I am considered an on-location, natural light photographer. I love working outdoors at a location of your choice. Newborn sessions are conducted in your home.
Can you recommend any locations for my session?
By popular demand, I have created a page listing some of my favorite locations in the area. You may find it here. Many of these locations were suggested to me by clients - do you have your eye on a particular spot? I'd love to try new locations and add them to my list! Locations 25 miles outside of Woodbridge, VA are subject to travel fees.
How early should I book my session?
I am a full-time mom and part-time photographer, so I accept a limited number of sessions each month. There's no concrete guideline, but the sooner, the better! I do not shoot on Sundays.
How do I go about booking a newborn session?
Please let me know when your due date is - we will try to coordinate a session date 2 weeks from then. It is best to photograph newborns in the first 2 weeks of life, but I'm happy to accommodate your little one at any age.
What forms of payment do you accept? Do you require a deposit or retainer?
A $100 non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session date, which will be applied toward your session fee; the remaining balance is due the day of your session. Cash, check and major credit cards are accepted. I do not accept baked goods at this time.
What time are most sessions conducted?
Sessions are best scheduled in the last afternoon. However, accommodations can be made for clients wishing to shoot earlier or at particular locations, but this is not recommended.
How long does the typical session last?
On average, my portrait sessions run just a little over one hour. However, when working with young children I'm often able to wrap up a session in a half hour to forty-five minutes. Sometimes, that's as long as the little ones will last. Newborn sessions can run anywhere from two to three hours. This accounts for diaper changes, feedings, and other breaks for baby as needed!
How long will it take to receive the proofs from my session?
I aim to present a gallery to my clients within 2-3 weeks from their session date. Teasers or blog previews are often available prior to the gallery since I know clients are eager to see pictures from their session! These are posted on my Facebook wall.
Do I buy prints from you? How do I do that? Does my session include the CD of images?

Do I buy prints from you? How do I do that? Does my session include the CD of images?
Within your gallery you may purchase prints, canvases, custom artwork and other gifts. Friends and family are invited and welcome to view the gallery as well! I do not include the CD of images with your session - however, files, or digital negatives, may be purchased from your session separately.
Why don't you include the CD with your session fee?
Like any artist, I want to have quality control over the product that is displayed for all to see. By purchasing high quality prints, I know that what you display in your home and to your friends is the highest level of my work. You paid for professional photography - your prints shouldn't be anything less! Most of all, clients let their images sit on the CD for so long. Display your photos proudly!
Is there a required minimum purchase from my gallery?
No. I know that everyone's needs are different, as well as budgets. I provide all of my products a la carte so you can piece together a "collection" that works best for you.
