Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Linton

Emily and James were married for time and all Eternity in the Washington, D.C. LDS Temple on Friday, April 13th. It wasn't until our day was half over that I even realized it was Friday the 13th, but Emily and Jim could not have asked for a more perfect day! The sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky.

When Emily contacted me a few months ago from halfway around the world, I was immediately in love with her story and how she and James met, their plans for their wedding and more importantly their plans for the future. I think the part of weddings I enjoy the most (besides the food... and that's not just the pregnant Kelli talking) is seeing how much love there is for the couple on their day. Watching the new husband and wife interact and meeting their friends and family who have come to support them. There was no shortage of family and friends on their wedding day, even though many had traveled all the way from Emily's native Australia.

Emily and James are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were married in a ceremony called a "sealing" within the Temple. Their former Bishop explained the significance of the sealing in a ring ceremony prior to the reception and how there is nothing else quite on earth to compare to our Temples. It is not a lavish ceremony in which Emily and James were sealed, but a very sacred and special one for the couple and their invited friends and family. During the ring ceremony Emily and Jim exchanged rings and personal vows in an almost silent, but touching moment.

Once again, I am so touched and honored to be chosen to document such a special day for two people and I could not be happier and more excited for Emily and James to start their lives together as husband and wife in Australia!
